Aging, Death, and Dying: A Lifespan Perspective

This course examines the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of aging, with particular attention to end-of-life processes and experiences. Students will explore how individuals age across the lifespan, the physiological and cognitive changes associated with growing older, and the social contexts that shape aging experiences. The course addresses death and dying as integral aspects of the human life course, including topics such as grief and bereavement, palliative and hospice care, cultural attitudes toward mortality, and ethical considerations in end-of-life decision-making.
