Catalog description

The course is an introduction to variation in Latin American Spanish. The main focus will be on phonological variation (i.e., variation in pronunciation), but attention will be given also to morphological and syntactic variation (i.e., variation in word formation and sentence formation). No previous linguistic course is required. 400-level and 500-level syllabi are the same; however, the 500-level requires a 10-page paper. Dual listed with SPA 506.
