Catalog description

People with disabilities are a large and diverse population that requires specific attention from a public health standpoint. In this course, we will be discussing different types of disabilities, health-related issues and various factors that affect the lives of people with disabilities, public health resources existing to support this population, and disease prevention and health promotion programs aimed at improving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of people with disabilities. We will also discuss different aspects of emergency preparedness for people with disabilities.
