Catalog description

This course serves as an introduction to the field of maternal and child health from a public health lens, focusing on the importance of addressing the health needs at different stages of the life cycle, including pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and childbirth, infancy, childhood, and adolescence. The risk factors and functional outcomes in terms of morbidity, mortality, reproduction and growth at the aforementioned life stages will be discussed. Students will get acquainted with the programs and interventions used to address these risk factors and outcomes, particularly in underserved populations.
