Catalog description

This course is designed to help students with no background knowledge in the subject to develop the necessary skills to communicate in Polish. The main objectives of this course are to help students develop effective communication skills in Polish through the elementary development of the four basic language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). The four language skills will be practiced through a variety of exercises and different media. Since language and culture are deeply interconnected, this course will also include some aspects of culture, history, geography as well as Polish traditions. Lectures cover basic grammar and syntax with emphasis on the spoken language. This is a course for true beginners, or students whose exposure to Polish is very limited.
