Molecules to Medicines explores how ideas at the molecular level become real therapies that improve human health. Nearly everyone relies on medications-but how are they discovered, tested, and refined, and why do they work the way they do? In this entry-level course, students are introduced to pharmacology as a discipline that bridges chemistry, biology, medicine, and public health. Through lectures and collaborative and self-directed learning opportunities, students will learn about basic principles that govern drug action, explore current methods and topics in pharmacological research and drug development, and develop teamwork, communication and critical analysis skills essential for entering graduate or health professions programs.
