Writing Arguments

This course is designed to provide detailed guidance in creating and writing arguments in a variety of contexts. Developing these skills is of central importance across a range of disciplines and fields that value clear communication with a well articulated argumentative structure. We will work through all the parts of writing arguments, from premises and conclusions to making valid inferences holding those parts of an argument together. In addition, this course will also cover topic selection, literature review, proper citation and references, and the synthesis of multiple sources. All this will take us through the full process of writing an argument, from research to presentation to final revisions.
