Catalog description

What is good business? Is it based solely upon economic values of profit maximization? Or do other values such as fairness, respect, and social responsibility play a role as well?  How should a business secure the legitimate cooperation of its employees, customers, and other communities in order to achieve its strategic goals? In this course, we reflect on questions like these from economic, social, political, and ethical perspectives. In doing so, we will attempt to arrive at a better understanding of good business and the proper role of business within society.
