Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the discipline and profession of nursing, preparing students for success in both foundational coursework and early clinical experiences. Through a combination of lecture, discussion and skills practice, students will explore the core values, knowledge, and behaviors that define contemporary nursing. Emphasis is placed on person-centered, evidence-based care, professional communication, ethical decision-making, cultural humility, and the development of beginning-level clinical judgment.
