Catalog description

The preparation of scientific abstracts based on the MRI research section will cover all aspects of reporting scientific data, including conveying hypothesis-driven research structure of scientific abstracts, reference styles and scientific writing. The MRI physics section will cover the fundamentals of the underlying physical properties causing changes on MRI. Basic imagining sequence, image formation and reconstruction will be discussed. The MRI processing and analysis section will discuss the handling of raw MRI data and creation as well as analysis of disease-specific metrics derived from different MRI sequences ( e.g hyper- and hypo-intensities, volumetric measures). The course may also cover elements of medical image analysis, including smoothing, noise reduction methods, spatial realignment and normalization as well as image statistics. The animal research section may involve animal handling, behavioral testing and chemical bench top operations.
