Catalog description

This course is designed for students in the MusB Performance program who plan to pursue the combined degree program in Music Education with the Graduate School of Education. It provides an in-depth exploration of string instruments, including violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Emphasis is placed on developing fundamental techniques, pedagogical strategies, and practical skills necessary for teaching and performing on each string instrument. Through demonstrations and hands-on activities, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of string instruments, their unique characteristics, pedagogical challenges, and strategies for teaching the instruments to beginning musicians.
