Catalog description

This intensive 6-week course provides a comprehensive introduction to forensic toxicology with special emphasis on DUI/DUID investigations and Drug-Facilitated Sexual Assault (DFSA) cases. Students will explore the principles of toxicological analysis in forensic settings, proper sample handling procedures, analytical techniques, data interpretation, and expert testimony. The course covers Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) protocols, the toxicological aspects of impaired driving cases, and the unique challenges presented by DFSA investigations. Through recorded lectures, case studies, and automated assessments, students will develop the fundamental knowledge required for toxicological analysis in forensic and legal contexts.
