Clinical Laboratory Science in the Age of Technology explores the evolving role of laboratory scientists in today’s healthcare environment. This course examines the intersection of traditional laboratory practices with emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. Through case studies, guest lectures from industry professionals, and interactive presentations, students will gain practical insights into laboratory confirmation processes, test validation protocols, and the critical relationships between laboratory professionals, healthcare teams, and technological systems. The course emphasizes both technical competency and the adaptability needed to thrive in an increasingly automated and AI-enhanced laboratory environment. MT 420 is close to non-MLS majors.
