Catalog description
This course provides a comprehensive overview of global fixed-income markets and the analytical tools used to evaluate them. Topics include bond pricing and yields, duration and convexity, and the valuation of bonds with embedded options. Students will explore the unique features and risks of a wide range of fixed-income instruments, including government, corporate, asset-backed, and mortgage-backed securities. Additional emphasis is placed on bond price and yield volatility, return decomposition, credit analysis, and yield curve dynamics. While market-focused, the course also aligns with the CFA Level I curriculum on fixed income module, offering valuable preparation for professional certification.
