Catalog description

This course is suitable for beginning-graduate or advanced-undergraduate students in fluid mechanics. The course is designed to make it more accessible to students who may have only studied the subject during one prior semester, or who may need fluid mechanics knowledge to pursue research in a related field. The course consists of vector and cartesian tensor notation; continuity equation; fluid kinematics and stress-strain relations; Navier-Stokes equations; vorticity dynamics; incompressible inviscid flow; incompressible viscous flow; exact solutions; boundary layers; low Reynolds number flow.
