Catalog description

This course is designed to immerse students in the artistic, cultural, agricultural, environmental, social, political, and economic experience in contemporary France. Students will explore and experience the regions through a cultural lens, but will also consider the wider context of challenges facing contemporary France within its European and global context. Questions of immigration, religion, workers’ rights, the social safety net, climate change and political instability will challenge students to make sense of the contradictions of contemporary France.
