Catalog description
This Wilderness First Aid (WFA2) course is designed for an individual or small group that travels beyond pavement and into the outdoors. Wilderness is defined as being 60 minutes or more away from help. WFA2 covers Allergies and Anaphylaxis, Hypothermia, Heat Problems, Lightning, Altitude Illnesses, Abdominal Problems, Submersion Incidents, and Wilderness First-Aid Kits. Adhering to the protocols of the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) and its guidelines you will receive both the theory and practical up-to-date training. Certification is valid for 2 years. Note this is a 7-week one credit course that will start mid-semester.
