Carbon Reduction Challenge

Catalog description
This interdisciplinary project-based course focuses on a semester-long “Carbon Reduction Challenge”, in which student teams apply their scientific knowledge to count the carbon footprint of a client business and propose solutions to reduce the footprint. This project culminates in a final presentation to clients and subject-matter experts. The course ensures that students master climate science fundamentals and encourages lively discussion of events relevant to our nation’s energy and climate future. Students will learn how to communicate the science to stakeholders, and to effect meaningful change. This course is dual-listed with ERT 579.
