Catalog description

Nanophotonics is an emerging and rapidly developing field which focuses on discovering new physical effects and developing new technologies to achieve unconventional control and manipulation light in the nanoscale (comparable to or smaller than wavelengths of light), in order to realize functionalities and performances beyond those of traditional optics. This course will focus on the fundamental physics underlying nanophotonics, and cover a range of important topics in nanophotonics as well as introduce their applications, including microscopy, imaging, sensing, energy conversion, etc. The course will also introduce a powerful simulation software for modeling and analyzing nanophotonic structures and devices.
