Catalog description

A majority of people live in poverty, mostly in economically underdeveloped countries. Why does harsh poverty in some countries persist alongside abundant wealth in other countries? Why do rates of economic growth differ so much between countries? How do education, investment and technological change affect economic development? The course presents theoretical answers along with data and applications of the theories to develop insights into answering these very important questions.
