Themes in Classics is a 1-credit course organized around a series of 50-minute lectures developed across the semester and dedicated each term to a specific theme. The course explores broad topics in Classics, ranging from literature and archaeology to the intersections among the different methods, approaches, and subfields that shape the study of the ancient world. By focusing each semester on a distinct theme, the course offers students the opportunity to engage with varied perspectives and to encounter the intellectual diversity of Classical studies through targeted discussion and analysis. This course is the same as APY 232, and course repeat rules will apply. Students should consult with their major department regarding any restrictions on their degree requirements.
