Catalog description

Site investigation, problem identification, and design of earth structures and foundation for small and large buildings and bridges in real-world setting. Plan site investigation. Identify, interpret, and approximate relevant soil properties for design analyses. Design shallow, mat, and deep foundations (including bearing capacity, settlements, lateral loads and drivability analyses), slopes, embankments, earth retaining systems, and ground improvement (consolidation, densification, reinforcement, soil nailing, anchors), as necessary for a given real-world project. Team work, Technical design report writing and oral presentations.
