First-Year Chinese

Catalog description

As the second semester of first-year Mandarin Chinese, this course is intended for students who have completed CHI 101 or have equivalent proficiency. It builds on basic language skills and introduces key aspects of Chinese culture. Students develop the ability to handle everyday situations through class activities and assignments, with an emphasis on speaking and listening and continued development of reading and writing. This course is NOT open to native speakers.
