This course will prepare chemical engineering students for successful careers in industry by providing them with powerful insight into how industry works, the different functions in industry, and what key roles chemical engineers play in them. Examples and case studies from different industries in this highly interactive course will be used. This course will be conducted by people with industrial experience. This will help students with their careers and successful transition to industry. Students will become familiar with their role as a Chemical Engineer by understanding how Product, Process, R&D, External Manufacturing, Technical Support, Quality, Safety and various other functions work in different industries. Additionally, they will learn about how they will use Big Data, Internet of Things (IOT), Generative AI and other new technologies which are rapidly evolving and being adopted in industry, helping to change process control, continuous manufacturing, innovation, and product development.
