Catalog description

This is an introductory level course for undergraduate majors within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Science. The course will focus on understanding human health and disease at the organ, cellular and molecular levels. This understanding provides the basis for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Students will develop critical thinking skills through evaluation of experimental scenarios to assess how well the conclusions are supported by the evidence. The textbook will be used to provide background on each topic, and lectures, reading and video resources will be used for in-depth exploration of specific topics.
