Further develops the role of the practical nurse in application of nursing conceptsto care of the geriatric client and care of the client receiving treatment for acuteand chronic mental health, behavioral, and/or cognitive conditions. Additionally,reviews the role of the practical nurse in coordinating care with emphasis oncollaborating with the health care team members to facilitate effective client care.Clinical experiences are utilized to develop and apply nursing theory and skills inthese patient populations. Registration requires that students purchase liabilityinsurance through the College. (2 hrs. lecture, 3 hrs. clinical) Prerequisite:BIO105 or (BIO130 and BIO132) with a C or higher, ENG100/ENG101 with a Cor higher, PNU116 and PNU119 with C+ or higher. Corequisite: PSY101 andPNU120.
