Catalog description
In-depth study of four-part writing using diatonic triads, seventh chords, and non-harmonic tones. Creation of a four-part musical phrase from a given melody orbass line. Continued study of species counterpoint. Study of cadences andphrasing, including periods and sentences. Analysis of examples from repertoire.(offered spring and summer only) Prerequisite: C or better in MUS122, MUS123and MUS124. Corequisite: MUS127 and MUS128.
