Catalog description
This course integrates fluency with numbers, proportional reasoning, datainterpretation, probability, algebraic reasoning, graphing lines, modeling, andcommunicating quantitative information. Mathematical concepts are investigatedthrough problem-solving and discussions in the context of real-life topics such as,personal finances, population growth and density, government, economics, andhealth related statistics. This course prepares students to take a college-levelnon-algebraic course in mathematics, such as MAT101, MAT102, or MAT103.Students placing at this level and needing MAT111 should take MAT006 orMAT007 instead of this course. Graded on an SA-SB-SC-R-U-W basis. Does notfulfill requirements for any degree or certificate. Prerequisite: MAT001 orplacement, and RDG098.
