Catalog description

Covers operation, installation, servicing and maintenance of oil, gas and electricheating equipment, including water heaters. Emphasis placed on theory ofoperation of fossil fuel systems as well as electric and reverse-cycle refrigerationsystems (heat pumps). In lab, students disassemble and evaluate componentparts of oil burners, ignition systems, fan centers and other devices instrumentalin operation of heating equipment. (2 hrs. lecture, 4 hrs. laboratory) Noprerequisite.
