Catalog description

This course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of howdata analytics and data management relate to the healthcare delivery system.Students are introduced to key topics and techniques associated with databasemanagement. The design, development, deployment, and evaluation of databasesystems will be discussed, as well as query languages, and HIPAA privacy andsecurity regulations. Students will have hands-on experience utilizing variousdatabase applications throughout the course. Skills developed will be reinforcedusing case studies across various healthcare settings. Prerequisite: HIT117.(offered spring semester only).
