Medieval Europe focuses on the history of Western Europe from late Antiquity tothe Renaissance. It emphasizes the rise of kings and kingdoms, intellectual andphilosophical movements, the development of technology, the lasting influence ofreligious persons, beliefs, and movements, as well as the political, social, andenvironmental changes that factored heavily into medieval life. Emphasis is onboth historiographical debate and historical development which led to thecreation of Western Europe as a distinct cultural entity. Note: Fulfills SUNY-GESocial Sciences and SUNY-GE World History and Global Awareness.Prerequisite: Any history course successfully completed.
