Storage, handling, standards, explosives and firefighting techniques associatedwith chemicals, gases, flammable liquids, corrosives, poisons, rocket propellantsand exotic fuel, and radioactive materials. Formation of toxic fumes and healthhazards also stressed. Ignition and combustion characteristics of gases, liquidsand solids related to free-burning fire, and explosion phenomena. Familiarizationwith radiological instruments, human exposure to radiation, decontaminationprocedures, common uses of radioactive materials and operational procedures.Prerequisite: FPT113.
