Catalog description

Current books of nonfiction are read and discussed. Includes selections frombooks of "New Journalism" as well as nonfiction novels of a narrative anddocumentary type by such writers as Truman Capote, Joan Didion, HunterThompson, Betty Friedan, Jimmy Breslin, Tom Wolfe, Norman Mailer, Gay Taleseand Theodore White. Students will learn to use fiction-writing techniques to telltrue stories. Prerequisite: ENG100 or ENG101. Recommended: ENG102.
