Introduction to Journalism

Catalog description

This course is centered on the basic concepts of journalism, including reporting,writing, numeracy, research, diversity, ethics, news engagement, andunderstanding civic life. Students will be introduced to key values and skills ofpracticing journalists and will be provided with models and examples of varioustypes of journalism. Students are expected to demonstrate an ongoingengagement with current events. Prerequisite or corequisite: ENG100 orENG101.
