Introductory survey of federal, state and local criminal justice systems includingpolice, courts, prosecutor, Grand Jury, trial jury, probation, parole, andcorrectional system. Gives beginning students broad overview of role of criminaljustice in a free society and provides foundation for all other courses in theprogram. Emphasizes importance of ethics in the criminal justice system. Noprerequisite.
