First half of the introductory sequence in Chinese which develops the fourlanguage skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing with emphasis oncommunicative competence. Integrated teaching methodology combines best ofgrammatical and functional approaches to language acquisition. Basic conceptsof Chinese culture are introduced. Required online lab component. This course isfor students with little or no prior knowledge of Chinese. Note: Fulfills SUNY-GEWorld Languages. No prerequisite.
