Presents basic knowledge of the buyer's role in department store and chainoperation. Involves a study of resources, buying techniques, and relationshipswith resident buying offices. Attention given to such merchandising data asprices, markdowns, stock turnover, markups and planning of stocks andpurchases. (offered fall semester only) Prerequisite: BUS130.
