Catalog description
Introduction to microbiology by a survey of methods, tools and techniques usedin studying main groups of bacteria and other medically significantmicroorganisms as well as the application of this knowledge to their physical andchemical control. In addition, the relationship of microorganisms to biotechnologyand disease is discussed. This course is recommended for students interested innursing and other health sciences. Note: Fulfills SUNY-GE Natural Sciences. (3hrs. lecture, 4 hrs. laboratory) Prerequisite: BIO132 with a C or better OR BIO130with a B+ or better and corequisite of BIO132.
