Automotive Portfolio II

Catalog description
The four units of A-Port will provide students the opportunity to build soft skills,prepare for and gain employment as an automotive technician. This course isdesigned to help the student with employment related skills including resumewriting, interview skills, job attainment, and certification. The focus of Portfolio IIis continued development of job place skills. The work-based learning experiencewill begin in early January before the start of the formal 15 week semester.Students will be required to complete 80 hours of supervised work-basedlearning during this course. Students in the Automotive Service Specialist, A.A.S.degree must successfully complete all four portfolio classes and one summer co-op experience for a total of 640 hours of total work experience to graduate.Registration in each of these courses requires that students purchase liabilityinsurance through the College. Students will be required to achieve a 70% orhigher on the final skills assessment in order to register for Automotive PortfolioII. (offered spring semester only) (1.5 hrs. practicum) Prerequisite: AUT105,AUT112 and AUT113.
