Catalog description

Explores basic concepts and methods of archaeological research, includingnature of the archaeological record and how archaeologists generate andanalyze data. Excavation, analysis and interpretation of material remains fromwell-known Old World and New World prehistoric and historic sites are examined.Cultural variation and culture change are major themes. Emphasizes applicationof these concepts to our own culture. Note: Fulfills SUNY-GE Social Sciencesand SUNY-GE World History and Global Awareness. No prerequisite.
