Catalog description
This course provides an overview of various healthcare settings where Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) practice. Students will explore the roles and responsibilities of the LPN within different healthcare environments, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, ambulatory care settings, and community health. The course will emphasize the importance of interprofessional collaboration, patient-centered care, and the impact of healthcare policy on nursing practice. Students will develop an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented in each setting. The course will also cover healthcare delivery systems, technology, quality improvement initiatives, and disaster preparedness. Course Residency Requirement This course is not eligible for transfer credit and must be taken at Strayer.
