Catalog description
An introduction persuasive communication and social influence and study of foundational theories and important frameworks that guide the practice of persuasion in applied settings. Students will learn how changes in attitudes and behavior may generally result and particular attention will be paid to message features that are believed to generate predictable effects. How such effects may be moderated by source, audience, and context factors will also be examined. Students will practice persuasive arguments through both written and oral communication.
