Catalog description

This course introduces students to recent technological advances in the field of engineering and STEM sciences in general and seeks to enhance learning engagement, comprehension and communication through the creation of educational videos. Students will receive in-person training from the renowned Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science. Working in teams, students will also learn to produce videos after interviewing faculty and staff at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) at Stony Brook University. The student teams will be trained at the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), who will provide students with tools and audio-visual support for creating and editing the videos. The produced videos will be accessible to all future students at the university, as well as the public.
