Clinical Insights for Healthcare Device Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Catalog description

This course will (1) establish a common language for healthcare device innovation by introducing a conceptual framework for the innovation and entrepreneurship process, (2) provide a relatable explanation of the resources and processes involved in healthcare device innovation, and (3) reinforce these concepts with real-world examples from current Stony Brook clinician innovators. Students will demonstrate their understanding of the concepts of healthcare device innovation & entrepreneurship by way of participating in discussions of case studies and during follow up interdisciplinary team projects designed to encourage student synthesis of the session’s concept.
