Documentary Media Art

Catalog description

Research, project development and creative production of documentary media art. Advanced self-directed project-based work, contextualized by readings, discussions, critiques and presentations. Use of photographic, sound and digital video production techniques applied toward actual events and non-fiction subject matter. The course takes an inclusive approach to documentary, considering experimental practices, as well as the artistic implications of new media, networked, crowd-sourced images, surveillance, forensics and data.
