Catalog description

This course explores design, physical computing, and digital fabrication practice through the framework of critical making for art and technology projects. Students will engage in hands-on experimentation with technologies such as electronic circuits, microcontrollers, creative coding, 3D modeling, design, and 3D printing. The emphasis is on an experimental, iterative approach to redesigning, remaking, mutating, speculating, and creating with DIY technologies. Students will engage with an experimental and critical approach to technological use to create interactive systems, objects, installations, and performances that interact with the environment in its cultural, physical, biological, and social dimensions.
