Imaging: From Camera to Computer

In this course, students engage with both the historical progression of imaging, from traditional analog methods to today’s digital innovations, and experience the theoretical, technical and creative aspects of imaging. Through lectures and discussions, the class examines the development of key imaging techniques and their cultural significance. Independent creative work allows students to practically apply these methods, deepening their technical proficiency while connecting materials and processes to larger cultural and theoretical frameworks. Readings and analytical exercises will further encourage critical reflection on how images communicate, represent information, and shape meaning in various contexts.
