A survey of the archaeological, paleontological, and genetic evidence for prehistoric human geographic dispersals starting in Africa more than 200,000 years ago and culminating in settlement of remote Pacific Islands. Humans populated most of the world during prehistoric times, fine-tuning their behavior to new and challenging habitats. None of these dispersals failed. The course explores these prehistoric dispersals’ implications for our evolutionary future.
