SCRIPT STRUCTURE FUNDAMENTALS

Catalog description

Required for all first-year Theatre students. This course gives participants an introduction to the key elements of script structure, demonstrating how all scripts begin with a well-structured story. Students will study a wide range of theatre and film scripts, learning the basics of key concepts including the three-act structure, the use of dramatic irony, the hero's journey, story types and genres, as well as the history of storytelling and other concepts that are essential to contemporary storytelling. Registration by permission of instructor.
