Catalog description

Science is often thought of as apolitical or value-neutral. However, many scholars and activists have argued that science is a social domain, shaped by human beings and subject to cultural values and political pressures. This course explores the social processes behind scientific knowledge production, including public engagement with research and efforts to use scientific research to advance or hinder social justice advocacy.
